Alvarez has worked in the real estate industry for more than 22 years as a real estate agent, real estate broker/owner, investor, and mortgage banker/manager. He is a member of the CMPS Institute, graduate of XINNIX Mortgage Academy, a member of the Mortgage Market Guide where he contributed his expertise in the Hispanic market, and a founding member/Vice President of the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals. A top producer with more than $800 million in real estate and mortgage transactions, Alvarez has been a featured guest on several television and radio shows, and in articles in magazines, newspapers, and other publications.

An entrepreneur and Publisher-in-Chief he developed the largest Hispanic publication in Connecticut "La Voz Hispana de Connecticut." He was the Executive Director of CAUSA, Inc. an organization of 14 community based agencies geared to social services, where he obtained a grant of $1.5 million from the U.S. Commerce Department for Technical Development of the agencies.

A graduate of the University of Puerto Rico, Alvarez earned a Bachelor of Science degree there and a Master in Science from University of Bridgeport. He also studied at Quinnipiac University School of Law.
